Take advantage of tax deductions and help stop hunger now

Do you pay taxes in the US? If so, did you know that there are special tax deductions available this year for cash donations to charities? You need to give by tomorrow, December 31st to qualify.

I’m from Vermont and I was saddened to learn that in 1 in 3 residents in the state is facing hunger as a result of the pandemic. According to Feed America, in the US, “more than 50 million people, including 17 million children, may experience food insecurity.” There are a lot of people going hungry this year that could use a little help.

This morning I made donations to the Vermont Food Bank and the Deerfield Valley Food Pantry which provides food to people in my hometown of Dover, Vermont. I also become a member of VTDigger, an independent news source that I’ve relied on for news from home in these difficult times. They also contribute part of donations received to the Vermont Food Bank.

Where are you giving this year?
