Another Monday in phase 2 of lockdown, another takeout pizza and supplì. Italian pizza was not designed for delivery and our first takeout pizza last week was flat and seemed as if it had all the air sucked out of it. But this week, we tried a new technique and put the still warm pizzas back in a 350 F oven as soon as they came into the house for 5 mins. Total success. Absolutely more delicious.
We had classic supplì for an appetizer that handled the 15-minute car ride with gusto, coming in hot and melty and still crisp. It was delicious. We then split two pizzas, one with zucchini, mint, and mozzarella, and one with sausages, mushroom, and mozzarella.
Our favorite pizzeria has a large outdoor seating area and there is a rumor that maybe, just maybe, on the 18th of May we could be eating pizza out again. Some say the 1st of June. We wait.
A fried egg and tigelle for breakfast. Chickpea and avocado salad with tomatoes and pumpkin seeds for lunch.
