Lockdown in Rome day 60

Sweet potatoes in the house! Ugly pretty delicious. I love sweet potatoes. You can find them in Italy, but it’s not a common ingredient in Italian cooking, so you have to look.

We usually buy our sweet potatoes from a favorite farmstand in Fiumicino and have been unable to go until this week because of the lockdown as it’s a different city, but Roberto made the trip this morning. Yay! We had one sweet potato when lockdown started 60 days ago. It’s been a while and they have been missed.

2020 is so weird. It’s Friday night and somehow telling you that we bought sweet potatoes today seems totally blog worthy.

Multigrain cereal with raisins for breakfast. Mixed bean soup with some wonderfully thick ricotta for lunch. Steak with roasted potatoes and asparagus for dinner. I haven’t gotten into the sweet potatoes just yet.

Eat well. Stay safe.
