And then on the 52nd day of lockdown, I woke up sick. Boo. I wasted yesterday away in bed with a decent fever, but seem to be on the mend today and feel good (knocking on wood). In coronavirus times, an Italian doctor friend advised me to continue taking my temperature every 2 to 3 hours to monitor, just in case. No fever today. Phew. I’ve got data. On the mend!
It was a cloudy day. May 1st is also Labor Day over here so no work and we had another feast in the garden delivered from Luppolo Station for lunch. I’ve had my fair share of naps and haven’t pushed things. Lazy day. Roberto watched 25 top places to go in Europe (Rome was #1), and I wondered if when this is all over, will the need to travel be so great that I’ll need to go abroad for a couple of years. Then I remembered that I’ve been living abroad for over 5 years now so yes, definitely yes. But I can’t wait to travel again once this is all over and then travel some more.
Today’s lockdown menu was the May 1st feast from Luppolo Station. I didn’t eat much of it in recovery but what I did eat was delicious — porchetta, lots of ribs, rolls, potato salad, coleslaw, sausages, baked beans, and beer. Roberto will probably have some of the leftovers for dinner. I might settle for a few bites and some rice.
