Lockdown in Rome day 39

And then on the 39th day, everything started to get silly, all the time.

Milk was delivered to our gate this morning like it was the 1940s. Only the bottles were plastic, not glass, and it was Amazon Prime, not the friendly neighborhood milkman. I was still grateful. I love milk.

I didn’t work today. I took the day off in exchange for working over the long Easter weekend while other colleagues took time off. A day off is weird in lockdown, but also pleasant. As one of my colleagues said a few weeks ago, “I want the weekend because I want to be bored like everyone else.” Although I wasn’t bored.

Fried egg for breakfast. European bass from the freezer for lunch with a salad full of nuts and seeds, leftover roast vegetables, and Wasa crackers. Shredded chicken tacos with homemade tortillas, guacamole, and maple coleslaw for dinner.

I also saw Roberto put a Vermont maple sugar candy in his oatmeal this morning as he was out of the good maple sugar. I’ve never seen anyone do that before.

Eat well. Stay safe.
