Lockdown in Rome day 30

On the 30th day of lockdown, all the wine orders arrived together, not by design, but by accident. They should have been weeks apart, but I’m not complaining. From a wide selection of Italian native grapes, Vespolina, Croatina, Nerello Mascalese, to a global selection of wines, Argentina, Germany, New Zealand, South Africa, France, our bases are covered and no one is going thirsty in this lockdown.

Somewhere in the middle of my workday, I found Enya’s “How Can I keep from Singing” stuck in my head. Why Enya? Why now? I don’t know where it came from, but my head seems to retreat to oldies. And no, I couldn’t keep from singing. I sing a lot in lockdown.

Farro flakes for breakfast. Bean and spinach soup for lunch with leftover fennel and anchovies. Potatoes, beets, fennel, and sausages all roasted together in the oven for dinner.

Eat well. Stay safe.
